The disable past dates functionality in the InputWP plugin provides you with the capability to prevent users from selecting past dates and times within the date picker. This ensures that your events are always associated with future or current dates.
How to use
- Accessing the Feature:
- Log in to your WordPress admin panel.
- Navigate to “InputWP” in the left-hand menu.
- Click on “All Events.”
- Locate the event for which you want to configure past date disabling.
- Click on “View Details” under the “Date picker” section of the event.
- Enabling/Disabling Past Dates: On the event details page, within the “Date picker” section, you will find a toggle switch button labeled “Disable past dates.” By default, this option is disabled (off).
- Enabling the Feature: To prevent the selection of past dates and times, toggle the switch button to the “On” position. When this option is enabled, the date picker will automatically gray out past dates and times, making them unavailable for selection.
- Using the Date Picker: Once enabled, the date picker will only allow users to choose dates and times that are in the present or future, based on the timezone configured in your general settings.
- Saving Changes: After configuring the past date disabling setting as desired, click on the “Update” button to save the changes you’ve made, including the past date disabling choice.
Advantages of Disabling Past Dates
- Event Relevance: By preventing the selection of past dates, you ensure that your events are always associated with upcoming or current dates. This enhances the relevance and accuracy of your event data.
- User Clarity: Disabling past dates in the date picker eliminates any confusion for users about whether past dates are acceptable choices.
By controlling the availability of past dates within the date picker, you can optimize the event selection process and provide a more streamlined user experience.
